“Cut that balloon loose!” Throughout your life balloons are tied to your body. They are labeled, with a black sharpie saying, “I AM ALONE, I AM DISGUSTING, I AM A FAILURE, I AM LESS THAN, I AM ICKY, I AM STUPID, I AM NOT WORTHY, I AM.........(insert your I AM here)!

It is time to take a pair of scissors and CUT THOSE BALLOONS LOOSE! Let fly free the negative words that are sharpy penned on your soul , the balloons that are tied to you!

Once you’ve removed the weight of all the balloons full of negativity....you will have the ability to fly higher than you could ever dream!

So, Cut That Balloon Lose! (Stay tuned for my published book with this title)!

Exercise: Get inflated balloons and write your negative “I am”...on each of them, go outside with them tied to your arms and CUT THEM LOOSE!!!

For some of us it is beyond difficult to reach out for help. We believe we will be a burden to who we reach out to, that they have their own busy lives, that what we are experiencing is not valid and is ridiculous. Most often what we feel in reaching out for help is extreme vulnerability.

Vulnerability: “the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally”. To me that is extremely TERRIFYING!

Although, alone we become prey for self-loathing, despair and subsequently self-harm.

Matthew 18:20 in the Bible says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them!” I must admit I’m especially not great at reaching out for help because after all I’m a counselor and should have it all figured out, right?! Not to mention I’ve had a Lifetime series (not just a movie LOL) full of distress, so I’ve “used” up my resources.

To complicate things worse when those you’ve uninhibitedly trusted in the past are the very people who have traumatized you the worst, vulnerability feels like you’re throwing yourself off a cliff to only bounce off of jagged rocks and then drown in the crashing waves.

I’m not really sure what to say or how to suggest you become vulnerable and reach out for help given the risks. What I can tell you is that when you find the God appointed people in your life to rescue you when you’re ready to give up something so healing and supernatural happens. To have that person drop everything at the sound of your muttered cry and to then walk through your front door with no time wasted and you collapse into their arms is the safest feeling ever.

Amazing how taking the biggest risk and being vulnerable can save you from an even bigger risk and usher you into a place of safety where you’re not feeling hopeless and wanting to tap out anymore.

Life is difficult, INCREDIBLY difficult. I encourage you to find your “people” and then call on them when you need to. I have found that my “people” pursue the opportunity to be there for me and appreciate me doing just so. After all that is what I hope others can count on with me. ❤️

So good!"I know how weary you are, My child. You have been struggling just to keep your head above water, and your strength is running low. Now is the time for you to stop striving and let Me fight for you. I know this is not easy for you to do. You feel as if you must keep struggling in order to survive, but I am calling you to rest in Me. I am working on your behalf; so be still, and know that I am God." —Jesus Today by Sarah Young, p. 76

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." —Exodus 14:14
